Maria Aleman Barrientos, 89, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 6th, 2016, at East Houston Regional Medical Center in Houston surrounded by her loving family.
Maria was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A devout Catholic, Maria was a longtime parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Maria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Barrientos and her parents, Reynalda and Julian Aleman.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her seven children: Robert (Lupita+), Olga B. (Reymundo) Larrasquitu, Pedro Jr. (Maggie), Raynaldo (Virginia), Josie (Orlando) Garza, Joel (Esther), and Ruben Barrientos; 22 grandchildren; 31great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; her sister, Josefina (Daniel+) Hernandez and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9th, 2016, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Darling-Mouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10th, 2016, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2645 Tulipan St. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Maria's grandsons are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother.
