Mary I. Carmen Cano, 81, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday January 26, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
Mrs. Cano was a member of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. She enjoyed watching football was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matias and Andrea Serrata, a brother, Matias Serrata, Jr. and sisters Consuelo Garcia, Margarita Perez and Dora Tencha Little.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Reynaldo Cano of Brownsville, children, Mr. and Mrs. Abelardo Solis of Houston, Rose Garza of Spring, TX, Cyril Solar of Brownsville, TX, Mr. Mrs. Celsus Solar of Austin, TX, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Solar of Houston, TX, and Martha Cano of Brownsville, TX, a sister, Enriqueta Vidal, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, beginning at 11a.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10a.m., Tuesday, January 29, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with entombment to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Cyril Solar, Celsus Solar, Robert Solar, J.R. Homer Rivera, Noe Solis and Abelardo Solis.

Family would like to thank Dr. Robert Robles and all the doctors who cared for Mrs. Cano.
