Maria "Mary" Luisa Casta�Eda

Maria Luisa V. Castaeda, 88, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at her residence.

Mary was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville was a volunteer with the Valley Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mary will be remembered for her love, wit, strong will, untamable life and courage. Mary was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Waiting for her in heaven were her parents: Leandra and Blas Vasquez her husband, Jose H. Castaeda a son, Jose Castaeda Jr. her brothers, Guadalupe and Frutoso Vasquez and her sisters, Angelita Ybarra, Rachel Fernandez, Enriqueta Gracia, and Charlota Davis.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Rick C. Riggins her sons: Noe Maribel Castaeda, Simon Sulema Castaeda both of Brownsville and Aaron Rachel Castaeda of San Antonio several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special sis, Elva V. Trevio.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at The Church of the Advent, Episcopal, 104 West Elizabeth Street in Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Special thanks to our friends of Episcopal Church of the Advent for the prayers and faith for our mother during her battle with Alzheimers to our friends and neighbors thank you for opening your hearts and home to our mother Vanessa, Dr. Castillo, and the dedicated Staff at Odyssey Hospice for your daily care and Dr. I. Minina for the care and comfort you gave our mother.
