BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Maria del Rosario Martinez entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 17th of April 2024 at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was fifty-nine years of age.
Maria del Rosario was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 17, 1964, daughter of the late Baldomero Martinez and Oralia Garza. Maria del Rosario enjoyed spending time with her sister, Aurora, but most of all she loved spending her weekends with her family. She loved playing loteria with them on the weekends.
Preceding Maria del Rosario in death were her parents and her loving son, Daniel Edward Peña.
Left to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children Crystal Zavala, Raul Lopez, Rogelio Martinez, Sandra Longoria, Gilberto Martinez, Ruben Martinez, and Gracie Martinez; twenty-two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters Aurora Almazan, Esperanza Vasquez, and Zulema Paz; two brothers, Jorge Martinez and Baldomero Martinez Jr; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 22nd of April 2024 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday, the 23rd of April 2024 between the hours of nine o’clock in the morning and one o'clock in the afternoon. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.Memories of Maria may be shared at www.darlingmouser.com.
