Maria lived a long and fruitful life. She found pride and joy in the accomplishments of her children and especially her grandchildren. She was a compassionate caring in
idual, who would always lend a hand to someone in need. She feed anyone who was hungry. When asked why she would do this, she would always say un plato de comida nunca sele debe negar a una persona translated: you should never deny a plate of food to a person. Another quality that she had was that she loved animals, especially birds. Over the years she had countless chickens, doves, pigeons, parrots, and ducks. Two years ago when the family pet died after giving birth to 8 puppies, Maria bottle feed the puppies so they would not die. One of the puppies became her pet, Princess, whom she loved and adored. Maria had so much energy that transpired into her work. She spent most of her life working hard as a farmers wife and raised 13 children. We often wondered how she had to ability to work in the cotton fields from sun up to sun down, care for her young children who were sometimes a year apart, and then tend to the daily demands of running a household, but this was her work ethic. She also had so much faith in God. She would often say that God had preformed many miracles in her life, especially when her five year old was healed of leukemia. Maria led by example for her family. The morals of right and wrong, faith in God, compassion for others, the love of animals, and especially her work ethic was passed on to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Ricardo Garza, Retired Judge Robert Norma Garza, Noel Betty, Jose Martin Garza, Jose Guadalupe Garza, Gloria Nick Gonzalez, Mary Garza Hinojosa, and Susan G. Galvan all from Brownsville, George Rebecca Garza from Houston, Sabas III Sylvia Garza from Harlingen, and Juan Noe Cynthia Garza from Seguin. She is survived by her brothers Alfredo and Esteban Sal
