Maria "Mari" Lydia Rivera Deza

Maria Lydia, 61, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mari was a strong supporter and advocate for the Brownsville Farmers Market and Brownsville Downtown United. Mari was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Mari was preceded in death by her father, Juvencio Rivera and a grandson, Alejandro Moreno.

Mari is survived by her mother, Lydia Maria Rivera her husband, Jesus Salazar a son, Andres R. Delgado a sister, Susana Wingate two brothers: Juvencio and Arturo Rivera and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

In accordance with Maris wishes, she has been cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at the Andres Pacheco Building, 1025 E. 11th Street, Brownsville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Maris name may be sent to the Brownsville Wellness Coalition, 80 Fort Brown SPH Building, Brownsville, Texas 78520 ATTN: Melissa.
