Maria del Carmen Mancias Dunlap, 66, our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, May 2, 2011 at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Carmen was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. A people person, Carmen worked her entire life in retail sales starting at Kress. She also worked at Gibsons, Topsis Mens Wear, Lopez Supermarket on International, and lastly at Sams Wholesale Club where she was a door greeter up until last month.

Carmen enjoyed playing Bingo and Loteria, going to the maquinitas, cookouts with family and friends, and cheering on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Carmen will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents: Alejandro and Santos Gonzalez Mancias and 3 brothers: Arturo, Cesar, and Eduardo Mancias.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her loving son, Thomas Louis Dunlap of Austin, TX two sisters: Maria Teresa Jose Ramon Saenz, of Brownsville, and Maria Cristina Ayers, of Seattle, WA two brothers: Alejandro Maria Mancias Jr., of Brownsville, and Carlos Mancias of Michigan her sisterinlaw, Olga Mancias and her best friends and companions: Miriam Cardenas and Guillermo Rios.

She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews: Jose Ramon Saenz Jr., Marbella Saenz, Stephen Justin, Ayers, Rosario Mancias, Maribel Garcia, Alejandro Mancias III, Noemi Estrada, Maricela Garza, Arturo Mancias Jr., Alma Mancias, Aida Mancias, Norma Linda Prado, Cristina, Janie, and Anita Mancias, of Michigan, Eduardo Mancias Jr. Yvonne, Monica, and Vanessa Mancias Tracy, Horacio, and Kevin Cardenas and two cousins: Isabel Augustin de la Rosa and Julia Joe Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, TX.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 and continue through 9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Thursday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. All services will conclude on Thursday and in accordance with Carmens wishes cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial gifts in Carmens name be made to Sunshine Haven Inc., P.O. Box 4478, Brownsville, TX 78523.
