Mrs. Maria Enriqueta Queta Franco, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and sister entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her residence in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Queta was born in Brownsville on October 08, 1920 to Jose Luis and Victoria Chapa Alamia. She worked at Walgreens Pharmacy for numerous years in their cosmetic department. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church parish. She was a loving mother who saw to the needs of her children and grandchildren. She liked gardening, cooking, and watching novelas.

She was a fightershe fought her illness to the very end. She exemplified true Christian value and was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

Queta was preceded in death by her husband, Eusebio Franco her parents, Jose Luis and Victoria Alamia two brothers, Luis and Benito Alamia and three sisters: Tomasa Lopez, Victoria Esparza, and Mary Alamia.

Left to eternally treasure her memory is her brother, Fred Alamia her children: Jorge A. Ninfa Lopez, Ana Maria David Yanes, Yolanda Guile Cantu, and Inez Manny Ortiz numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. today, Thursday, July 14, 2011 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. this evening. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 1914 Barnard Road. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Quetas grandsons: George Barr, Joey Lopez, Oscar Ramirez, Mike Santana, Luis Javier Vega, and Isaac Yanes are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother. The remaining grandchildren and greatgrandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Quetas family would like to thank Safe Haven Hospice for the tender and compassionate care they bestowed upon their loved one, especially Isabel Medelez, R.N. and Sylvia Rivera, R.N.
