Maria Guadalupe Gomez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Maria Guadalupe Barbosa Gomez entered into eternal rest on Thursday, the 19th of December 2024 in Brownsville, Texas. She was 96 years of age.

Maria was born in Matamoros, Mexico on May 28, 1928, daughter of the late Miguel Barbosa and Reyes Ramirez, and was a lifelong resident of Brownsville, Texas.

Preceding Maria in death are her husband, Jesus Francisco Gomez; her parents, Miguel Barbosa and Reyes Ramirez; and her siblings Armando Barbosa, Francisco Barbosa, Gregorio Barbosa, Enrique Barbosa, Miguel Barbosa, Amalia Gonzalez, and Maria Hermila Aceves. 

Survivors include her son, Rolando B. Gomez (Sylvia); her grandsons, Rolando Gomez, Jr. (Holli) and Raul Jesus Gomez (Laura); her great-grandchildren Liliana Gomez, Jackson Riley Gomez, and Nicolas Raul Gomez; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 23rd of December 2024 between the hours of five o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Monday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. 

Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday, the 24th of December 2024 from nine o'clock in the morning with a chapel service to commence at twelve noon. Interment will then follow at Buena Vista Burial Park Mausoleum, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
