Maria America Lopez

Maria America Lopez, 67, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle against cancer.

America was preceded in death by her parents, Obdulia and Hilario Salas a brother, Hector Berin Salas, and her mother and fatherinlaw, Eusebia and Refugio Lopez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of America is her husband of 47 years, Felix Lopez her children: Jorge Felix Heriselda Lopez, Sandra America Gonzalo Salazar, and Ricardo Connie Lopez the eight grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Aaron Gonzalo, Sandra America, and Jessica Alexa Salazar and Jennifer Nicole, Erik Ivan, Madison Victoria, Michael Isaac, and Kennedy Lauren Lopez three brothers, Antonio, Hilario, and Edmundo Salas and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., today, Thursday, April 10th in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April, 11th at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Americas sons: George and Rick her soninlaw, Gonzalo Salazar her grandson, Aaron Gonzalo Salazar and her nephews: Marco and Berin Salas are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Americas grandsons: Michael and Erik Lopez along with her brothers, Antonio, Hilario, and Edmundo Salas will serve as honorary pallbearers.

America was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
