Maria "Lupe" Guadalupe Martinez

Mrs. Guadalupe Lupe Martinez, 89, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Harlingen Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Martinez had been a lifetime resident of Port Isabel, Texas. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister who was completely devoted to her family. She loved spending time in her garden growing roses. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Ramirez; her mother, Felicitas Gonzalez; her husband, Jose V. Martinez, and her grandson, Jose Pepe Martinez.

Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her five children: Belia Ronald Lang, Jose Jesus Ruth Martinez, Raul Beatriz Martinez, Lupita Martinez, and George Martinez; her grandchildren: George and Jennifer Lang, Rosa Brown, Nita Hendricks, Mayte Martinez, Abiel Aldrete, Antonio Karina Esquivel, and Erica Jesse Garza; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and her brother, Rodolfo Rachel Gonzalez.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at the Port Isabel City Cemetery.

Abiel Aldrete, Jesse Garza, Jaime Gonzalez, Noel Gonzalez, Rudy Gonzalez, and Mayte Martinez are honored to be serving as Doas Lupes pallbearers. Tony Esquivel and George Lang will serve as honorary pallbearers.
