Maria F. Machado

Maria F. Machado, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving husband, daughters, sons, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

She was a member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church and also a member of the Mujeres Metodistas Unidas.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Felipe Machado; her children: Felipe Jr. Blanca, Ester Eleazar Carrasco, Rogelio Cynthia, Samuel Debra, Ruth Raul, and Joel Machado. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great-grand-children, her sister, Sara Barron of Bay City, Texas, her brother, Lorenzo Flores of Lane City, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 and continue through 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 435 Boca Chica Blvd. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Felipe Machado Jr., Rogelio Machado, Samuel Machado, Joel Machado, Felipe Machado IV, and Eleazar R. Carrasco Jr. are honored to be serving as Marias pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the Machado family is requesting that memorial gifts in her name be made to El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, Mujeres Methodist Unidas Group, 435 Boca Chica Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
