Maria De Los Angeles "Angelita" Capistran Manzano

Maria de los Angeles "Angelita" Manzano, 95, of Brownsville,Tx, beloved mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March
23, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Angelita was born on May 15, 1920 in Brownsville, Texas. She was a loving daughter,
sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was seeing
her children and grandchildren grow, learn and succeed. A woman of great character
and love, she touched everyone she met with her beautiful smile and unwavering
affection. Her life consisted of raising a family and attending church. She lived a faithful church life at Holy Family Church for many years.

Throughout her lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Angelita was cared for lovingly by many
caregivers, more recently: Rosa Maria Solis, Norma Capistran Quintero; Juanita
Medina; and Mari Hinojosa. That they grew to love her as a family member of their own
is a testament to Angelita's enduring warmth and spirit. We, as a family, wish to extend
our most heartfelt gratitude to each of those caregivers who helped provide Angelita
with all the love, care, and dignity she deserved. We are also very grateful to Caring
for You Home Health and Safe Haven Hospice for these organizations' support and
comfort.

Angelita was preceded in death by her parents, Alonso Capistran Chapa and Cela
Pizana Capistran; her husband of 55 years, Jose Manzano Atkinson; her grandson,
Ernesto Severo Garza Manzano; and, several sons-and daughters-in-law. She is
survived by nine children-Matilde M. Ramirez (Reynaldo); Elvira M. Medina
(+Arnoldo); Maria Elena Guzman (+Abelardo); Maria Guadalupe M. Gracia(+Carlos);
Dr. Jose H. Manzano (+Henrieta Rojas); Magdalena Manzano; Sergio I. Manzano
(+Christina Martinez); Angelita M. Moorefield (Allan); Yolanda M. Cortez (+Alberto); 41
grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren.
