Maria F. Mena, 86, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.
Doa Maria who was born in Mexico, had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who gave her all for her family. Doa Maria enjoyed spending her days with her friends at Mom and Dad Adult Day Care. Doa Maria was very proud of the fact that she was a Naturalized citizen. Doa Maria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known her.
Doa Maria was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Juan Francisco Mena three sisters and one brother.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Arcadio Francisca Mena Almanza, Maria del Carmen Mena, Tomas Librada Mena Almanza, Pascual Elena Mena Almanza, Sandra Eduardo Mena Madrid, and Maria Angel Sarmiento twentythree grandchildren, twentyone greatgrandchildren, seven greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 24380 West US Hwy 281, San Benito, Texas. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family members are honored to be serving as pallbearers.
