Maria De La Luz Montiel

Maria De La Luz Montiel, 89, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Montiel was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Montiel, Sr. and a son, Juan Montiel, Jr. She is survived by her children, Maria De La Luz Enrique Marks of Brownsville, Juan Ofelia Montiel Jr. , Elida Jose Vidro of Brownsville, Rosalinda Juan Tobias of Los Fresnos, Alicia Jose Juan Espinoza of Brownsville, Gilberto Montiel of Minnesota Manuel Montiel of New Mexico and Jesus Oralia Montiel of Brownsville, her siblings, Jesus Padilla and Clara Cantu of Matamoros 32 grandchildren, 52 greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreatgrandchildren.
Visitation will begin Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1 p.m., and continue until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser. Visitation will resume on Sunday, September 18, at 10 a.m., and continue until 9 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 19, at Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers are Juan Montiel III, Carlos Tobias, Jose Juan Espinoza, Gilbert Montiel, Jr., Ezquiel Marks and Enrique Marks III. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilberto Montiel, Manuel Montiel, Jesus Montiel, Enrique Marks, Jr., and Juan Tobias.
