Maria Idalia Nuñez

Maria Idalia Nu ñez (Tia Lala) ,79, of San Pedro entered into eternal rest in Brownsville, Texas. She was born in El Naranjo and raised in Villa Cavazos by her parents Jose and Isabel N. Nuñez where they raised 9 children, 5 girls 4 boys, Tia Lala being the youngest.

She worked in a packing warehouse along Military Highway.  She was involved in helping to raise a lot of her nieces and nephews and of course great-great nieces.  With open arms, she welcomed you into her home and life. Everyone enjoyed her homemade: mashed potatoes, empanadas, tamales, rice, beans and especially her cookies and tortillas. She was like a second mom to all of us, a big sister and a good friend. With a big heart and a lot of love to share. Her passing on February 14, was a tribute to her for sharing, love, faith, caring to all. Her journey has ended and she has finally rejoined all her family, the Nunez.

Maria Idalia was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Consuelo, Josefa, Trinidad, Jose Dolores, Pablo, Raul, Carlota N. Gonzales and Julio.

Left to eternally treasure their memories of her are her beloved numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Liturgical Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. following the rosary. Burial will be at San Pedro Cemetery on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
