Maria Manuela Trevino Cisneros

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Maria Manuela Treviño Cisneros entered eternal rest on Friday, the 7th of June 2024 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas, surrounded by family. She was ninety-five years of age.

Maria was born on August 3, 1928, daughter of the late Jesus Treviño Gomez and Rogaciana Gonzalez.

On June 11, 1950, Maria married Luis Napoleon Cisneros and together they celebrated sixty-one years of marriage. The Lord blessed them with three loving children: Laura, John, and Albert. A devout Catholic, Maria was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Maria was always happy and willing to offer a helping hand, contributing to multiple charities, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for more than thirty years. A loving and giving person, through and through, no one was a stranger to her, and anyone who was lucky enough to enter her home never left hungry.

She was a gifted cook and pastry chef and enjoyed nothing more than preparing meals for her family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress and delighted in making clothes for her family, homemade costumes for her adored granddaughter, Lisa Marie, and repairing clothes for others. 

Maria lived in Chicago, a city that she loved so much, and worked in retail. After retirement, Maria and Luis moved to Brownsville, Texas to be near family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dr. Laura E. Cisneros and Albert Cisneros (Ana); her granddaughter, Lisa Cisneros Ladendorf (Keith); her grandson, Christian B. Cisneros; great-grandson, Donovan Cisneros Ladendorf; her brother, Jesus Daniel Treviño; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis N. Cisneros; her son, John L. Cisneros; and by her parents.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 14th of June 2024 between the hours of four o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Friday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, the 15th of June 2024 beginning at eight o'clock in the morning.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 15th of June 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
