Maria Sanchez Trevino, age 81, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers. She was born April 2, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Florencio Sanchez, Sr. and Guadalupe Sanchez. She was a lifelong Catholic and believed strongly in her faith. Prior to her illness she lived a rich fulfilling life showing the very nature of love and devotion to her family. She loved everyone and especially loved her devoted husband and would take great pride in her children. She left behind a legacy of love, peace and hope. She was also a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother she was loved by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Florencio Jr. and Robert.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Antonio Trevino of Brownsville, Texas two sons, John Criselda of McAllen and Joseph of Brownsville, Texas two sisters, Eva Ramirez Valentin of Brownsville, Texas, and Emma Sanchez of Corpus Christi, Texas one brother, Isauro Sanchez Virginia of Corpus Christi, Texas and one granddaughter, Julia Marie Trevino of McAllen, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010 at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Saint Marys Catholic Church in Brownsville, Texas with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be John Trevino, Joe Trevino, Valentin Ramirez, and Luis Ramirez.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 Michigan Ave, FL17, Chicago, Il 60601 or a charity of your choice.
