Maria O. Willingham, 89, of Brownsville, Texas passed away at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home, on Thursday, October 5, 2017, with her family at her side.
Maria was a native of Mexico. She had been a resident of Brownsville since 1959, after living in Port Isabel for several years. Maria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Willingham; her parents. Micaela H. and Juan Ortiz; and 7 brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Micaela L. Willingham; a son, William O. (Marisela) Willingham; the three grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Sarah, Eileen, and William Willingham; a sister, Ofelia Hinojosa and a brother, Francisco Ortiz; a niece, Norma Hinojosa and a nephew Jorge Hinojosa along with numerous other nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th, in the East Chapel at Darling Mouser Funeral Home with a Rosary Service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 7th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis Street. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
