Maria del Carmen Zepeda, 60, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Zepeda worked for the Brownsville Independent School District as a paraprofessional for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Zulema Gonzalez, a daughter, Melissa Salazar, an uncle, Federico Garza, a niece, Teresa Saldaa and a step-daughter, Christine Zepeda Ramirez.
Left to eternally treasure her memory is her husband Alberto Zepeda of Brownsville; her daughters, Sandra Salazar of Austin and Norma Gustavo, Jr. Salazar Almanza of Laredo; a grandson, Gustavo Almanza, III of Laredo; her sisters, Maria Concepcion Jesus Saldaa, Irma Imelda Ruben Saldaa and Ana Maria Ocie Endsley, all of Brownsville; a brother, Reynaldo Margarita Gonzalez of Brownsville and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2009, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard, with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Jesus Saldana, Jr., Jaime Saldana, Armando Deanda, Jr., Ruben Saldana, Jr., Ocie Michael Endsley, Jr., Reynaldo Gonzalez, Jr., Luis Carlos Gonzalez, and Gustavo Almanza, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her brother and sisters.
