Maria De Jesus Reyes

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Maria de Jesus Reyes entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 1st of March at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. She was ninety-two years of age.

Maria was born in Reynosa, Mexico on September 13, 1930, daughter of the late Juan de Dios Gonzalez and Librada Garcia Gonzalez. She loved gardening and flowers, especially red roses. She was a humble and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and very devoted to her family.

Preceding Maria in death was her husband, Arturo Reyes, Sr.; and her sister, Amada Herrera.

Survivors include her children Rogelio Reyes, Jose Manuel Reyes (Bertha), Arthur Reyes (Cyndi), Hortencia Revuelta (Javier), Isabel Reyna, Gracie Silva, Maria de Jesus Caballero (Carlos), Lupita Gonzalez (Mark); her thirteen grandchildren Lorraine, Denise, Marcos, Milds, Nicole, Yma, Casandra, Eric, Illiana, Jonathan, Jeremy, Elijah, and Sarah; in addition to numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Everasita Limon; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 3rd of March 2023 between the hours of three o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a chapel service to begin at six o'clock Friday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude Friday night. Cremation will follow.
