BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Maria del Rosario Serrata, 73, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Brownsville, Texas.
Maria was a devoted wife and mother who gave her all for family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and dancing, as well as attending parties and gatherings. Her cooking was always accommodating of what everybody desired to eat, regardless of how many different dishes were requested. She will always be remembered for her happy, outgoing, and sweet gentle personality and will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Maria del Rosario was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Angel Garza and Josefina Garza.
Left behind to eternally treasure her memory is her loving and devoted husband, Francisco Serrata; their children Luis M. Serrata (Dana), Frank A. Serrata (Marisa), Claudia S. Reano (Gian), and Carlos A. Serrata; 13 grandchildren; and her siblings Miguel Garza (Leonor), Jesus Garza (Gabriela), Enrique Garza, Tonia Cortinas (Lucio), Margarita Gonzalez (Reynaldo), Josefina Maldonado (Oscar), and Carlos Garza; as well as extended family members and friends.
All funeral services will be held on Friday, August 07, 2020. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue through 11:00 a.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 11:00 a.m. in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary, Mother of the Church at 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas.
