Mariano Mario Gonzales, 44, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at his residence in Los Fresnos, Texas.
Mario as he was affectionately known to all, was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Mario was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Juanita and Jesus Guillen; his paternal grandparents: Herlinda and Jose Concepcion "JC" Gonzales; and his mother and father-in-law, Ventura and Jose Gualberto Benavides.
Mario is survived by his wife, Hidalia B. Gonzales; his daughter, Ariana Giselle and his son, Mariano Mario Gonzales III; his mother, Palmira Guillen Gonzales; his father, Mariano "Mario" Gonzales; his brother, Albert (Annelle) Gonzales; and a sister, Melinda (Edward) Rodriguez. Mario will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Olga (Alfredo) Arteaga, Gloria (Javier) Rojas, Sylvia (Pablo) Herrera, Robert (Cinthia) Benavides, George (Rebecca) Torres and Cynthia Ann Arteaga and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr., Brownsville. All services will conclude after the Mass and cremation will follow.
Albert Gonzales, Javier Rojas, Edward Rodriguez, Alfredo Arteaga, Joshua Rodriguez, Robert Herieda, Eric Cervantes, Raul Anzaldua and Jesse Castillo are honored to be serving as Mario's pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hector Cervantes and Carlos Ortiz.
