BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Maria P. Moody entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 23rd of February 2020 at her residence at the age of seventy.
Maria was born on April 18, 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Brownsville, Texas. She was employed with the J. C. Penney Company, Inc. for over twenty years before retiring to spend more time with her family. She loved her children and cherished her twelve grandchildren, attending their numerous school activities and sports games. Maria had a keen eye for anything Michael Kors. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed greatly.
Her parents, Miguel Angel and Guadalupe Hernandez Paredes; siblings Miguel Angel Paredes, Jr., Maria Guadalupe Lerma (Pedro +), Paola Cabada, Adolfo Paredes, Marcos Paredes, Manuel Paredes (Esperanza), Maria Francisca Garibay (Antonio), and Marie Dunie (Robert+); niece, Jessica Garibay, and nephew, Miguel Angel Paredes III, preceded her in death.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Santiago V. Moody; children Doricela Moody Garcia (Jesse), Veronica Acosta (Johnny +), Jose Luis Moody, and Santiago Moody, Jr., (Esmeralda); grandchildren James, Kaitlyn, Jose Luis, Jr., Santiago III, Jacob, Alberto, Angela Marie, Larissa Marie, Krista, Jonathan, Alyssa, and Jenna; brother, Martin Paredes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 26th of February 2020 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to be held at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass is scheduled for ten o'clock Thursday morning, the 27th of February 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Committal services will immediately follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
