BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Maria Teresa Sanchez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 5th of July 2020 at the age of sixty-nine in Brownsville, Texas.
Maria Teresa was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a devout and faithful Christian who loved and served The Lord Jesus. Her favorite pastimes were spending quality time with her precious grandchildren and cooking, particularly her specialty tamales. Her home was open to all who needed shelter and she always put everybody before her own self and needs. Maria Teresa will always be remembered for her kind-hearted, friendly personality and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Veronica Sanchez; parents, Andres Loza and Maria Luisa Garza Loza; brothers, Mario Loza and Arnoldo Loza; and by her sister, Euvalda Serna.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving husband, Jose Catarino Sanchez; their children: Jose Sanchez, Jr. (Dioana), Marissa Moreno (Jose Angel), Laura Gonzalez (Alfredo), and Dalilah Lara (Leonel); fourteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings: Antonio Loza (Evelia), Jesus Loza (Carolina), Graciela Landeros (Alfonso), Isabel Espinoza (Antonio), Olga Garcia (Jose), Juan Loza (Ester), and Jose Luis Loza (Maria); sister-in-laws, Elsa Loza and Eleanor Loza; and brother-in-law, Jose Angel Serna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 8th of July 2020 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and seven o'clock at night, with a prayer service to be held at six o'clock Wednesday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, the 9th of July 2020 at eleven o’clock in the morning with entombment services to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park Mausoleum, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Please be mindful of current cemetery restrictions and guidelines.
There is a limit of fifty persons within the funeral home at all times due to the COVID situation. Please follow current social distancing guidelines and regulations. A face mask will be required within the funeral home at all times.
