Marilyn D. Lindeman, 89, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Angel Care Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Marilyn spent her life helping others who were less fortunate. She has been a 50 year member of P.E.O. Her association with Church Women United began in 1970 with the inauguration of the organization began in Brownsville. She later moved to Harlingen and she served as the state representative for the Valley. Marilyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville.
While living in Chicago, Marilyn was associated with Association House in the Mexican-
American area of Chicago with close ties to local high school graduates. Her college fraternity adopted Association House as a philanthropic contribution. Marilyn took care of the sick and helped the poor in four countries. She taught ESL in Chicago and in Brownsville.
Marilyn and Richard played golf as a recreational pastime. Marilyn was a founding member of the Women's Golf Association at Rancho Viejo. In their "Golden Years" Marilyn and Richard enjoyed golfing, dancing, and dining out. Marilyn was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine Miller Dewey.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard Jay Lindeman and her twin sister, Carolyn from Houston, Texas. She will also be missed by her 10 loving and consistent friends who saw her through her battle with Alzheimer's. Marilyn was a loving, giving, and happy person. Please remember her that way.
A Memorial Service celebrating Marilyn's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, 435 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, TX.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in Marilyn's name may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
