Mary LaFawn Lipps went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
Mary LaFawn was born the only child of J.C. and Jewel Ingram on November 8, 1929, in the small town of Brownsboro, Texas. She took pride in knowing that her ancestors were pioneers and early settlers in America and Texas. She attended Brownsboro High School and graduated from a class of 18 students. She attended Tyler Junior College and became a CPA. At the age of eighteen, she moved to Brownsville and began working at the Cameron County Court House. On September 6, 1957, she married
John Gerald Lipps Jr. Together the raised a family and ran Pan American Laboratories. She continued to run the business until 1993.
Mary LaFawn was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Lipps Jr., her father, J.C. Ingram, and her mother, Jewel Ingram.
She is survived by her children: Susan Rudy Hernandez, David Heidi Lipps, Alan Lilia Lipps, and William Elizabeth Lipps and by the pride and joy of her life, her 5 granddaughters: Kaylee and Emily Hernandez, Heather, Jewel, and Wanda Lipps her very close sisterinlaw, Marilyn Baca, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, April 26, 2010 at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating Mary LaFawns life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at DarlingMouser. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
