Matilde R. Lerma

Matilde Mati Ramon Lerma, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 18, 2010. She was born on December 18, 1925 in Robstown, Texas to Reynaldo Gregorio Ramon and Martina Ramirez Ramon. Matilde graduated Salutatorian of her graduating class at Texas A I University in Kingsville and after several years went back to Texas A I and obtained her Masters Degree. She was a dedicated and devoted teacher at Lotspeich Elementary School before retiring after 25 years of service. Mati was a devout Catholic and a lector at St. Johns Catholic Church in Robstown. She was also a funeral director and partner of the family business Ramon Funeral Home, Inc. and a lifelong resident of Robstown. She was a very loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Matilde goes home to reunite with her parents: Reynaldo Gregorio Ramon and Martina Ramirez Ramon, her husband: Mauro Lerma and a brother: Reynaldo Raul Ramon who preceded her in death.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her son: Rey Anna Lerma of Brownsville, Texas, one brother: Ricardo Lynn Ramon of Issaquah, Washington. She was also blessed and adored by her three grandchildren: Mauro Reynaldo Lerma, Jr., RaeAnne Lerma and Melissa Rae Lerma, one greatgrandchild: Bayleigh Jayn Lerma and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas with Bishop Reymundo Pena as celebrant. Interment will follow in Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.
