Mercedes Spinelli entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wenesday, October 28, 2015 at her residence in Brownsville, Texas.
A native of Mexico City, Mrs. Spinelli came to Brownsville in 1953. She was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Spinelli's fondest pastime was to spend time with her family.
Mrs. Spinelli was preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Spinelli, a daughter, Marcelle Spinelli Kuehler; and her parents, Bertha Lira and Luis Solana.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Mercedes (Jack) Shultz, of Houston, Texas, Susana (Giampaolo) Gatti, of Rome, Italy, Reynaldo A. (Monica) Spinelli of San Antonio, Texas and Paty (Robert) Daniels of Brownsville; 12 grandchildren: Yvonne Chesnick, Rick McInnis, Paul Schultz, Kevin Schultz, Vivienne St. John, Stuart Schultz, Nicole Gatti, Alexander Gatti, Bobby Daniels, Christopher Daniels, Monica Spinelli and Alejandra Spinelli. In addition, she is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Resurrection will be officiated by Msgr. Bert Diaz at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Honored to be serving as Mrs. Spinelli's (Lita) pallbearers are Bobby Daniels, Rick McInnis, Kevin Schultz, Robert Daniels, Robert Chesnick and Robby Chesnick. Christopher Daniels will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
