Milton Edward Bud Wentz Jr., 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, August 17, 2012 at his residence in Olmito, TX surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Brownsville, Mr. Wentz had been a resident of Olmito, Texas since the 1950s. Bud as he was affectionately known to all was a longtime farmer and rancher in this area. A pioneer in the breeding of Simbrah cattle he was known in ranching circles as the Godfather of Simbrah which are recognized worldwide.
Mr. Wentz along with others was also a pioneer in the founding of the sugar cane industry here in the Valley. Farming and ranching were not only his work and livelihood, but also his passion. He loved the Cowboys, Texas, telling stories, traveling, and good company but spending time with and being around his cattle was his true joy.
Mr. Wentz was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known him.
Mr. Wentz was preceded in death by his parents, Milton E. Wentz Sr. and Monica C. Wentz his first wife, Jeanine DeFoor Wentz and his sister, Jacklyn Kincannon.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving and devoted wife of 13 years, Maria Guadalupe Wentz his children: Bill Wentz, David Wentz, Diane Anthony Burdette, Leticia Luis Eduardo Gosser Gonzalez, and Marco Andres Gosser the grandchildren that were the apple of his eye: Anthony Burdette, Danielle Vincent Folgore, Christen Wentz, Ashley Monique, Ryan Andrew, and Matthew Edward Gonzalez and two greatgrandchildren: Niya and Gino Folgore and numerous other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating Mr. Wentzs life will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at DarlingMouser. All services will conclude after the service and cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Wentzs family is requesting that memorial gifts in his name be made to Sunshine Haven, P. O. Box 4478, Brownsville, Texas 78523.
