Miss Maria Luisa Lopez

Maria Luisa Lopez, 87, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Spanish Meadows.

She was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 13, 1924. She retired from Levi Strauss after working there for many years. She was very active with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Paula Betancourt Lopez, her brothers, Ernesto, Santiago and Antonio and by her sister, Maria Elena Alcantar. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011, from 1 to 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, at 2 p.m., in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
