Moises G. Montemayor

Moises G. Montemayor, age 85, went to join the Lord at his bountiful table of plenty on Sunday, November 15, 2009. He was a resident of San Antonio, Texas, for the last eight years and a former long time resident of Brownsville. He was born in San Benito, Texas to Miguel and Josefina Montemayor.BRBR

Moises served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired from Rio Radio Supply, Inc. after 30 years of devoted service.BRBR

Moises was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and for many was a loyal friend. He has indeed left this world a better place and has provided an inspiration to all who knew him.BRBRMoises was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Maria Ofelia Montemayor.

He is survived by his children; Dora Searl-Shilvock of San Antonio, TX; Delia Strader and Henry Rodriguez of San Antonio, TX; and Debbie and George Gilchrist of Papalote, Texas; five grandchildren: Dennis Clinch of San Antonio, TX; Marsha Strader of Irving, TX; Lisa Strader of San Antonio, TX; Jennifer Sena of Corpus Christi, TX; and Matthew Gilchrist of Portland, TX; and one great-granddaughter; Aubrey Gilchrist of Portland, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.BRBR

The family will receive friends, on Thursday evening, November 19, 2009, from 4-9 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser. The Mass of Christian Resurrection celebrating his wonderful life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road in Brownsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Dennis Clinch, Matthew Gilchrist, George Gilchrist, Oscar Maldonado, Robert Montemayor and Johnny Montemayor are honored to be serving as Mr. Maldonados pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alfonso Poncho Maldonado, Pedro Montemayor, and Rene Ornelas.BRBR
