Mrs. Irene Garcia

Irene Garcia, 71, beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at her residence in Olmito surrounded by her loving family.

A native and lifetime resident of the BrownsvilleOlmito area, Mrs. Garcia was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her family. She touched the lives of many in our community as a loyal and dedicated teachers assistant with the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District for many years. She will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents: Octavio and Santos Ureste and her beloved husband, Hilario Garcia.

Left to eternally treasure her memory are her children: Hilario Tory Garcia Jr., David Laura Garcia, Victoria G. Arthur Portier, and Carlos A. Garcia her brother, Augustine Ureste 3 sisters: Delia Alvarado, Maria Atkinson, and Trine Garza and 6 grandchildren: Michael Ryan Garcia, Clemente Garcia, Irene Garcia, Anthony Meza, Andrew Portier, and Josephine Portier and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Garden. Carlos A. Garcia, David Garcia, Hilario Garcia Jr., Michael Ryan Garcia, Anthony Meza, and Arthur Portier are honored to be serving as Mrs. Garcias pallbearers.
