Nancy Lynn Rystedt, 52, beloved mother, daughter, sister, sisterinlaw, aunt, coworker, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.
Nancy who was born on Sept. 26, 1958 in Evanston, IL, had been a resident of Brownsville and South Padre Island for many years. She worked on South Padre Island as a food and beverage manager at several well known restaurants. Nancy will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, John V. Rystedt.
Left to eternally treasure her memory are her son, Jeffrey Phillip Gaudet her mother, Lynn E. Kaufmann two sisters, Anne Mario Benavides and her twin, Susan Howard 2 brothers, George C. Bates and John R. Cynthia Rystedt 2 nieces Courtney Bates and Ashley Lynn Benavides and 1 nephew, Mario A. Benavides Jr. her beloved cat, Cousin Pearl and many beloved friends.
In accordance with Nancys wishes, she will be cremated and a Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Nancys family is requesting that memorial gifts in her name be made to Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility, P. O. Box 4478, Brownsville, TX 78523 or Brownsville Animal Defense, 943 N. Expressway, Ste. 15, Box 150 A, Brownsville, TX 78520.
