Noe P. Ramon, 91, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Sunday, May 19, 2019, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Noe, who was born in Alamo, Texas, came to live in Brownsville after proudly serving our country during World War II, in the U.S. Army. He was proud to be a veteran.
It was here in Brownsville, that Noe met the love of his life, the beautiful Alice Hon, who would be his cherished wife of 52 years before she passed in 2007.
Noe served our community working at several local banks. He began his banking career as a teller and when he retired at the age of 75, he was a Vice-President at Brownsville National Bank.
Noe was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus and other local community service organizations to numerous to mention. Noe was an avid outdoorsman who loved both fishing and hunting but most especially spending time at his ranch where he hosted some legendary birthday "pachangas".
Noe will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Noe was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hon Ramon; a son-in-law, David Saenz; his parents, Maria P. and Rodrigo Ramon; a brother, Rodrigo Ramon Jr. and 2 sisters, Alicia and Mary.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his 2 most cherished possessions, his daughters, Marie T. Saenz and Margaret A. Ramon; the grandson that was the apple of his eye, Brandon David Saenz; a brother, Rodolfo Ramon; and 4 sisters: Bertha, Anita, Severa, and Santos. Noe will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling- Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. The VFW Post 2035 Funeral Honor Guard will render military honors at the graveside.
Brandon David Saenz, Luis, James, Jake and Joe Lara, and Frankie Flores are honored to be serving as Noe's pallbearers. Joe P. Saenz, Juan Mendez, and Jesse Jimenez will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to Noe's caregivers, Lalita, Mari, and Rosie for the excellent care, attention and love that they showed Noe. They will be eternally grateful to each one of you.
