Nora Faye Hockaday

Nora Faye Hockaday passed away at home on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the age of 86, with her family and caregivers Carmen Sanchez and Janie Perez at her side.

Nora Faye, the daughter of Daniel and Rena Killion was born on April 14, 1925 in Mangum, Oklahoma.

Nora Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Don E. Hockaday her parents, Daniel and Rena Killion and her brotherinlaw, Robert Baker.

Mrs. Hockaday is survived by her daughters: Sandra Sam Merrill, Shirley Daniel Butler, and Linda Paul Hemphill the grandson that was the light of her life, Major Matthew Merrill, U.S.M.C. her sister, Eva Lea Baker, her brothersinlaw, Gordon Hockaday and Eddie Hockaday numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Nora Fayes life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Central Christian Church, 1100 E. Alton Gloor Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Hockadays name may be made to Central Christian Church Childrens Center, 1100 Alton Gloor Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78526.
