Oneida Morales

Oneida Morales, 75, of Brownsville, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at her residence.

A native of Cuba, Mrs. Morales immigrated to the United States in 1964. She had been a resident of Brownsville for over 30 years.

A survivor of breast cancer, she was a woman who had a passion and a zest for life. Friday nights found her with family and friends enjoying a game of dominoes and a shot or two of tequila or vodka. A social butterfly by nature, she loved dancing to Cuban music. She was a wonderful cook and loved nothing more than having friends and family over. She was an energetic woman who always took great pride in looking her best.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Maria Morales and her parents Roberto and Belen Rodriguez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her daughter, Barbara Gary Lashlee two sons, Tony Rosie Morales and Carlos Laura Morales the grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Aliza Chris Evans, Jocelyn Lashlee, Anthony Jolene Morales, Alina Morales, Haley Morales, and Carla Morales two greatgrandchildren, Mikayla and A.J. Morales and her sister Piedad Roberto Infiesta and many, many friends.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. this evening in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville, Texas. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
