Pablo Martínez, 82, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Monday, September, 7, 2015, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
Pablito as he was affectionately known to all was born and raised in Cuba on the shores of Playa Baracoa. He immigrated to Miami, Fla in 1964 and ultimately moved with his family to Brownsville in the summer of 1974. Pablito was an avid hunter, fisherman and general outdoorsman. He always highlighted family gatherings with his storytelling and special rendition of "El Rey."
Pablito was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Pablito is preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Maria Elena Cánovas Martínez and a brother, Claudio Martínez.
Pablo is survived by his wife of 20 years, Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Mata Martinez; a son, Pablo F. (Ana Luisa) Martínez; a daughter, Ana Celia "Nena" (Alfredo) Garcia; four grandchildren; Alfredo (Jessica) García, Wendy (Adán) Sáenz, Dr. Pablo F. Martinez MD, and Eduardo A. Martínez; four great-grandchildren: Lila C. and Holly M. Garcia and Natalia S. and Adán J. Sáenz; a sister, Edilia (Leonel) Dominquez; a sister-in-law, Caridad Martínez; two nieces, Anabel (Mario) Serralta and Lissette (Gerardo) Hernández; a nephew, Jorge L. Dominquez and numerous other extended family members.
Visitation and a rosary service were held yesterday at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held today, Wednesday, September 09, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Alfredo García, Alfredo A. García, Eduardo A. Martínez, Efrain Mata, Adán D. Sáenz, and Jorge L. Dominguez are honored to be serving as Pablito's pallbearers.
