Patricia Ruth Basler

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Patricia Ruth Basler, beloved wife and mother was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on March 17, 1931 and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the age of 90.

She spent most of her adult life in Brownsville where she and her husband Alfred Basler, Jr. (deceased) raised three children. Patricia was a Christ follower who showed her love by being a faithful, steady, and unswerving presence in the lives of her family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and would sometimes volunteer at the Good Neighbor Settlement House. For many years, she worked with her husband who was a building contractor and land developer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother.

She is survived by her three children: Kathleen (Stover) Basler, Paul Basler, and David Basler and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 16th of June 2021 between the hours of eight o’clock and ten o'clock in the morning within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will commence at ten o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment will then follow at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
