AUSTIN, TX. - Patricio Espinoza Mejia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 27th of November 2019 in Round Rock, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was sixty-seven years of age.
Patricio was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served overseas in Germany. He was currently employed with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs in Austin, Texas, assisting other veterans with their needs for the past thirty-five years. Every Friday, he enjoyed playing a few rounds of poker at home and loved barbequing for his family and close friends on the weekends. He had a passion for admiring automobiles of all makes and models. He will always be remembered for his friendliness and kindness towards those in need, his disciplined punctuality for every occasion, and as the loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son that he was.
His parents, Candido E. and Carolina E. Mejia; and brother, Ruben Mejia, preceded him in death.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife, Yolanda A. Mejia; their children, Jennifer Julie (Robert James) Polanco and Justin Anthony Mejia; grandchildren Cassandra Polanco, James Polanco, Victoria Mejia, Valori Cavender, Yzma Polanco, Aaliyah Mejia, Alli Mejia, and Elijah Moreno; and siblings Candido Mejia, Johnny Mejia (Sofia), and Maria Antonia Torres (Tomas). Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and a host of many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 5th of December 2019 between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at one o’clock in the afternoon. Military Honors will be rendered at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home immediately following the rosary Thursday afternoon, under the auspices of the V.F.W. Post #2035. A Chapel Service will commence following the conclusion of military honors at two o’clock Thursday afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
All funeral services will conclude Thursday night, and in accordance with the final wishes of Mr. Mejia, cremation is to follow.
