Mr. Pedro L. Barrientos III, 87, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his residence in Brownsville, TX surrounded by his loving family.
Pedro, who was born in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico, had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. Pedro, a devout Catholic, was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. Pedro was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Pedro worked for Diamond Shamrock for many years. During his time with them he opened several stations for them all across the Rio Grande Valley. Pedro was always being recognized and rewarded for his hard work as a coworker, manager,
and district manager. He retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1981. Pedro was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, Refugia L. and Pedro L. Barrientos Jr. and a sister, Aurora B. Gonzalez.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Maria E. Barrientos: his sister, Esperanza B. Hernandez his children: Robert Guadalupe, Olga Raymundo Larrasquitu, Pedro IV Magdalena, Reynaldo Vicky, Josie Orlando Garza, Joel Esther, and Ruben Josie Barrientos twentytwo grandchildren, numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 with the Funeral Mass scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2645 Tulipan St. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pedros grandsons: Pedro Barrientos V, Reynaldo Barrientos Jr., Raymond Larrasquitu Jr., David Barrientos, Steven Barrientos, and Ruben Barrientos are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandfather. Honorary pallbearers will be: Robert Barrientos Jr., Alex Barrientos, Ricky Barrientos, and Joel Barrientos Jr.
The Barrientos family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, in particular: Gilbert Sandoval, Pete Cerda, Rafaela Garcia, Natalie Bradley, and Nancy and nurses Miriam Valdiviez and Juan Ruiz.
