Pelayo Quintana, Jr., 89, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at his residence in Brownsville, Texas.
Pye, as he was affectionately known to all, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Pye worked for and retired from the BISD as the Tax Collector. Pye was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Pye was preceded in death by his wife, Dora L. Quintana; a daughter, Erica Quintana; and his parents, Magdalena Sanchez and Pelayo Quintana Sr.
Pye is survived by his children: David O. (Belinda) Quintana, Daniel H. Quintana, D. Myra Quintana, R. Dimitri (Elizabeth) Quintana, and Drucilla (Roger Bailey) Quintana. Pye will also be missed by his 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Paul De Furia and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home; with the recitation of the Holy Rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside by the VFW Funeral Honor Guard.
