Polly Ann Sawyer Infante was called home to the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, March 12, 2010, surrounded by her family, after a 6 years battle with Breast Cancer.
Polly was born in Brownsville, Texas, on January 27, 1960. Polly graduated from Homer Hanna High School in 1979. She was active in Girl Scouts and obtained her First Class Rank. She graduated from Texas Southmost College and worked at Brownsville Medical Center for 25 years as a pediatric nurse. Parents would stop her often and thank her for the care she provided to the many premature babies that she cared for. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Board of Christian Child Care.
Polly is survived by her loving husband, David Infante her children, Joseph Joey, Jacob Jake, and Sarah Infante her parents, Alfred Chicken and Bunny Gomez her brother, Ralph Sawyer her sisters, Barbara Dennis Overton and Melinda Al Ottolino her loving in laws, David and Fidela Vera and Pablo and Alicia Infante her sistersinlaw, Brenda Bill Ingram and Lina Joel Salinger her brotherinlaw, Paul Nina Infante and her nieces and nephews: James and Mia Infante, Sabrina Josh Langhorst, Bryan Ingram, and Michael and Mark Ottolino.
Polly was a loving and caring person who will be dearly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010 and continue through 9 p.m. with Pastor David Vera leading a prayer service at 7 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Pastor David Vera will officiate at the funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Monday, March 15, 2010 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 901 Boca Chica Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78520.
Special thanks to Dr. Balesh Sharma who gave Polly the Best care available. Dr. Ahmad Kharkoutly, Dr. Dominique VandeMaele, Dr. Carlos Ponce, Dr. Jamil Madi, and all the VBMC nurses and aides who took care of her during numerous visits. Her passion was nursing and her life and world were her husband, children, parents, sisters, brother, and inlaws.
