Prajedis G. P.G. Cavazos, 83, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
P.G. was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. P.G. continued to serve our country after his discharge, as an agent with the Border Patrol. He retired in 1981 as an assistant chief. P. G. had a strong passion for South Texas and its culture but what he really enjoyed was studying and documenting the genealogy of the Cavazos family.
P. G. was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Ezequiel Cavazos a son, Ezequiel Cavazos three sisters: Mary C. Lala Diaz, Maria Magdalena Nena Bujanos, and Mary Helen Chacha Rivas and a brother, Johnny N. Cavazos.
P.G. is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maria del Socorro Cavazos a son, Prajedis G. Laura T. Cavazos Jr. a daughter, Diana Cavazos three granddaughters: Casey Cavazos, Whitney Lee Harrelson, and Courtney Cavazos a greatgrandson, Bronson Lee Harrelson a sisterinlaw, Maria Teresa Nena Cavazos and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended members of the family.
Visitation and a rosary service were held yesterday at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. today, Monday, Nov. 3rd at San Pedro Catholic Church in San Pedro. Committal services will follow at Sabas Cavazos Cemetery on Cemetery Road in San Pedro.
