Rachel Cisneros Stansbury, 85, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, of Brownsville, Texas entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Valley Baptist Medical Center with her loving family at her side.
Rachel, a native and life resident of Brownsville, worked in the Nursing Profession from 1965 until her retirement in 1995. Rachel worked with various doctors and clinics in the Brownsville area, as well as a visiting nurse for APC Home Care.
Rachel also worked as a corrections officer for the Cameron County Sheriff's Dept. from 1977 until 1984.
Rachel is preceded in death by her husband, Laddie Robert Stansbury; a son, Henry Allen Arledge; her parents, Hortencia Cuellar and Servando Cisneros; and 3 brothers: Eliseo, Guadalupe, and Erasmo Cisneros.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Rachel are her children: Rose Mary Smith, Bonnie G. Fox, Robbin Stansbury, and Rendell Lee (Benita) Stansbury; a sister, Ninfa C. Sellars; the 8 grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Brian Fox, Crystal Fox, Hannaniel James Smith, Anita A. Arledge, Jessica, Roxanne, Kayla, and Rendell Stansbury Jr., 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
In accordance with Rachel's wishes, she will be cremated. There are no services planned at this time.
