BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Rafael Carrasco, affectionately known by many as Ralph, loving father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 2nd of June 2020 at the age sixty-one.

Rafael was born in Brownsville, Texas to his parents, Carlos P. and Violeta Manzano Carrasco on April 01, 1959. He was a life-long resident of Brownsville, and worked as a travel agent at one point in time. He was later employed with the Port of Brownsville, and continued to work within the industrial field. His favorite pastimes were fishing out in the bay and enjoying outdoor cookouts with his family and friends, as well as watching countless movies. Ralph rescued numerous animals over the years, providing them with a comforting home. His dogs were his life. He will always be remembered as a complex, but sociable gentleman who provided lots of joy to those around him with his many jokes and great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos P. and Violeta Manzano Carrasco; his paternal grandmother, Jovita Carrasco; his maternal grandparents, Ernesto and Maria S. Manzano; and by several aunts and uncles.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving children: his precious fourteen year old Chihuahua, Bruno; daughter, Carla Carrasco and her husband, Phillip Hooper; son, Ralph Anthony Carrasco; and step-daughter, Stephanie Gregory; his granddaughter, Harmony Carrasco; his brother, Robert Carrasco; his nephews, Carlos Robert Carrasco and Andrew Albert Carrasco; his aunt, Lydia M. Besteiro; and by. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, the 6th of June 2020 between the hours of four o’clock in the afternoon and seven o'clock in the evening, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at five o'clock Saturday afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude Saturday evening.

There is a limit of one hundred and seventy-five persons within the funeral home at all times due to the COVID situation. Please follow current social distancing guidelines and regulations. A face mask is recommended within the funeral home at all times.
