Ramona Mata de Hernandez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Ramona Mata de Hernandez entered into eternal on Monday, the 17th of July 2023. She was one hundred and two years of age.

Preceding Sra.  Hernandez in death was her loving and devoted husband of sixty-eight years, Antonio Hernandez; her parents, Vicente Mata and Carlota Longoria de Mata; and her siblings Odelia Mata, Jesus Mata, and Jenoveba Mata.

Survivors include her children Eliazar Hernandez (Celia Esmeralda), Dora Vera (Candelario), Joel Hernandez  (Ma. Antonia), Arnoldo Hernandez (Lupita), Gloria Ayala (Mariano), Juan (Maria Idalia) and Leonel Hernandez; in addition to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, Ismael Mata Martinez, Guadalupe Mata Martinez, Oziel Mata Martinez and Vicente Mata Martinez; sisters, Dominga Mata Martinez, Marisela Mata Martinez and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 19th of July 2023 between the hours of eleven o'clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

A Chapel Service will commence at twelve noon on Thursday, the 20th of July 2023. Interment will immediately follow, via escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
