Raul Rene Ronnie Beaver Garcia, 53, of Brownsville, Texas our beloved husband, father, son, nephew, and cousin was called up to the Lord on May 20, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raul C. Garcia his cousin, Melissa Chavez, and his aunt, Chelo Guajardo.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Josie T. Garcia his loving daughter, Evanna Isabel Garcia, his devoted mother, Isabel P. Garcia, and his doting aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ronnie loved Christ first and foremost and loved to serve the Lord by leading the singing at church services. He graduated from Hanna High School with the Class of 1976. He attended Oklahoma Christian University where he majored in Kinesiology. He was also a sports fanatic for the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He served as a baseball official for 28 years, and as a basketball official for 38 years until he was unable to continue officiating due to his health, but Ronnie still ran the clock for Vela Middle School and Porter High School during basketball season.
Visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 9p.m., Saturday, May 21, at DarlingMouser and will resume at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 22, 2011, and continue through 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Church of Christ, 2434 Price Rd. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Jesse Araguz, Albert Garcia, Mel Garcia, Felix Garza, David Mitchell, and David Paz are honored to be serving as Ronnies pallbearers.
