Refugia Cookie Coronado, 83, beloved sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Ebony Lake Nursing Home.
A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Cookie was a lifetime parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Eulalia Villarreal Coronado; her brother, Julio Coronado and her sisters, Guadalupe Guerra, Ciria Coronado, and Maria Dora Coronado
Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her sister and brothers; Concepcion Guadalupe Sanchez, Juan Yolanda Coronado and Pablo Gloria Coronado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2009 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection is tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Please call the funeral home to confirm the time for the Mass. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Cookies nephews: Daniel Coronado, Pablo Coronado, Jr., Robert Coronado, David James Coronado, Mike Sanchez, and David Guerra are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved aunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Guerra, Juan Carlos Coronado, and John Guerra.
The family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Staff at Ebony Lake Nursing Home for the tender and compassionate care with which they ministered to their loved one.
