Reynaldo G. Arteaga

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Reynaldo G. Arteaga, born May 27, 1947 passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the age of 72 years.

Rey, aka “Mr. Arteaga” to many, worked with BISD as teacher, Vice Principal, Principal and Administrator until his retirement.  Many knew him as a hardworking individual who cared and gave to those in need.  He was selfless and provided generously to his family, always teaching the value of paying it forward.   He enjoyed and was willing to serve and help whenever he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Remberto Arteaga and Elva Garcia Arteaga.

He is survived by his wife, Oralia E. Arteaga; daughters, Myrta Arteaga and Marisol Arteaga; and son, Reynaldo Arteaga Jr. (Andrea); and by his grandchildren Victoria, Caleb, Micaela, Sebastian, Ava, and Sofia.

His wife, children, and grandchildren will treasure his leadership, guidance, and persistence to do the best in everything. He will be dearly missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 01, 2019 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

Visiting hours will resume at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 02, 2019. A Chapel Service will commence 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow immediately after at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas.
